Dear Pilots,

Thanks to everyone for attending last night's meeting. Looks like we have a growing concern here and I look forward to continued growth. We had a new member join the group last night. Welcome aboard Ed. Ed and I began our training with Luis about the same time last year. Good to see ya again Ed and I look forward to flying with you soon. I plan to send a summary email after all future meetings to recap and also for those who couldn't make the meeting. Here's what happened..... Elections were held with the following results:

President- John Frazier Vice President- Douglas LaPointe Safety Officer- Hynek Cibula (Andrew agreed to continue to be our Treasurer and Web Master - Thanks Andrew)

The long-anticipated SIV clinic has been set. Thanks to Luis for all his hard work in organizing the event. He will be posting on both APE and on SPP groups with all the vital information but in short; there are two clinics scheduled for July in Somerville, TX, just outside of Houston. The first is to run from July 17-20 and the second from July 20-23. Please email or contact Luis to sign up.

Hynek is finalizing the design for the Fly-in T-shirts, Email your size and quantity requests to the group. FYI Andrew, Douglas said he would be happy to keep track of that for us. Speaking of the Fly-in.... It's set for Chilhowee the weekend of May 31st. We're still looking for an appropriate campsite but Andrew seems to have a good bead on that and we'll try to have that settled by the next meeting.

The next meeting was scheduled for April 30 and we will be looking for a quieter and more convenient location between now and then. I know it's soon but May will be a short month for several of us. Somewhere just north of the perimeter off I-85 is probably best for all and I'll keep you posted on that. Andrew will be updating the SPP web site with Radio Freqs and GPS coordinates for all of our flying sites over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for that. We will also be working towards getting a complete member list on the web site.

I'm still making continued progress with the TVA regarding conducting clinics on Chatuge. Their Safety officers are also looking for other potential TVA controlled sites for us if Chatuge isn't possible. We've met their insurance requirements and once we obtain permission to proceed we plan to add the TVA Dam area at Chatuge as an insured site.

Thanks again for attending and for placing your confidence in me. Though I can't help but feel there's been some mistake, I'll do my best to make ya' proud.
